Theater in the Park:

The Shakespeare Sensation: Enjoy a performance by the Montford Park Players, a locally beloved theatre company that few tourists experience, dine at one of Asheville’s highly-rated neighborhood haunts, and be treated as a backstage VIP.  In October, the Players will be moving to their winter home in the Asheville Masonic Temple where they will present Romeo and Juliet from October 13-23, 2011.  If you like, you and your guests can even take part in the production!  You will be fully costumed and given a walk-on role, enabling you to see the production from both in front of the house and backstage.  This is an opportunity not to be missed and guests who have taken part have raved about it!

Behind the Scene Masonic Tour:
Exclusive private backstage tour of Asheville's historic Masonic Temple. Your Masonic tour guide will show you all the hidden places in the Temple and divulge many of the secrets of Freemasonry. The Temple was completed in 1915 and the theatre contains hand-painted backdrops by Thomas Gibbs Moses, an outstanding scenic artist of the early 20th century. Free parking.

Tours can be scheduled during the afternoon and are $10 per person.

Golf at the Grove Park Inn:

The historic Grove Park Inn Golf course is considered one of the ten best in North Carolina with its meticulously maintained greens surrounded by spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountain. We are able to offer our guests discounts of 30 - 40% on greens fees when booking through the Carolina Bed & Breakfast

Romance Package:
Romance begins when you walk in the door. The mood will be set when you are greeted by a bouquet of roses, a plate of the finest chocolate truffles, and a sparkling beverage chilled and waiting for you. We use only local products: beverages from the Biltmore Estate and handmade chocolates from the Chocolate Fetish in downtown Asheville. $70

Just For Fun:
Looking for something a bit more relaxed? How about a beverage of your choice from the Biltmore Estate or a selection of Asheville’s local brews together with a ½ pound of amazing fudge from Nutz About Fudge and a bowl of popcorn? Top it off with a DVD from our library downstairs and you are set for the evening. $40

Is it a birthday, an anniversary, or some other occasion? Enjoy a home-baked cake made in our kitchen just for you. We will be happy to provide candles and balloons for a party in your room!

Biltmore Tickets:
We are happy to supply you with tickets to the Biltmore for $55/ticket.  (Stays of two or more nights $49/ticket.  Tickets must be ordered in advance)  In addition, our passes are good for two consecutive days with extended access to  Antler Hill Village and the Winery. With so much to see and do, this gives you the option to break up your visit. Special Winter Rate tickets are available from January 2 through March 31 for $40/ticket. Biltmore ticket prices are subject to change.

When James and I bought the Carolina Bed & Breakfast 3 years ago, we knew there was a lot of work to be done in order to bring the house and its furnishings up to the standard we felt was needed to offer to our guests. The kitchen and guest pantry were rebuilt, the common rooms painted and their furnishings upgraded.  We bought new mattresses, linens, robes and towels; oriental carpets were installed in each of the rooms, fireplaces returned to their original condition and retrofitted with gas.  Rooms have been repainted and floors refinished.  We are proud of the results and love the way the house shines, and now it is finally time to turn to our living space! This winter, we will be building an addition on the back of the house, extending off the kitchen into a small "townhouse" for James and myself including a room for our children when they visit.

We recognize that this will cause some disruption and noise, and we remain committed to making sure our guests experience the best we have to offer at our inn in Asheville, North Carolina.  In order to assure your comfort we are taking the following steps:

December 5-8 and 12-15, 2011 :  The Carolina Bed & Breakfast will be closed while the foundation is being dug.
December 16, 2011: Rooms which are well removed from the construction area will be re-opened. (The Cottage will remain closed throughout the construction period.)  No work will be done over weekends or during December 23, 2011- January 2, 2012.
January 3, 2012:  The inn will close for the month of January.
February 1, 2012-March 15, 2012:  The Carolina will be open Fridays through Sundays inclusive.
March 16, 2012:  All rooms (with the exception of the Cottage) will be fully operational.

In spite of these precautions we realize that our guests may experience some slight inconveniences. So we have created "The Innkeeper's Special", giving you a $25 rebate per room/per night.  We will continue to offer the same special gourmet breakfasts, evening social hour and bedtime treats as well as the highest level of service to you.
