Tucked away by itself in a quiet corner of the second floor, the Robin's Nest is our most private room. In the rear of the house, it overlooks the gardens on two sides. In the spring, the grape arbor and wisteria form a riot of color under your window. In the autumn, the vista looks out to the brilliant fall colors of the tree-covered mountains behind the house. Paying homage to the owners' years in Asia, the Robin's Nest has a king-size, rosewood opium bed flanked by two Chinese lacquered bedside tables. A desk situated in the corner is flanked by a comfortable armchair. Linking the past and the present, the blue and white color theme is based on the 18th century popularity of Chinese export porcelain in Europe and the United States. A small dressing room leads to a private bath with walk-in shower and a pedestal sink.
