On a quiet street in the historic Montford district, our Asheville bed and breakfast awaits you.
The Carolina Bed & Breakfast is your home away from home. Whether you choose a pleasant stroll to town to visit one of the many award-winning restaurants or shops, visit the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, or spend a day at the Biltmore Estate, you will find yourself happy to return to this cozy, historic house.
In the winter, a cheery fire will greet you in the sitting room. In the summer, a cool drink and refreshments will await you on either of the two porches where you may sit and enjoy a gentle evening breeze and the birdsong in the surrounding gardens.
This lovely Asheville, NC bed and breakfast was built in 1901 by Richard Sharp Smith, supervising architect of the Biltmore. The spacious Arts & Craft style rooms showcase the unique, original art and antiques which the owners have collected in their voyages around the world. Your visit will be enhanced by the small touches which make all the difference: a plate of fresh cookies in your room, nibbles by the fireplace in the evening, and personalized service to help make your stay special.
The large guest rooms have unique queen and king beds with luxurious linens and comforters, air-conditioning, flat-screen cable television, and five of the rooms have fireplaces. Wireless Internet is provided throughout the house. Each room also has a private bath, many with whirlpool or Jacuzzi tubs. Also on the property is a private cottage with king bed, day bed, small kitchenette, two-person whirlpool tub, and fireplace.
Breakfast in the morning is prepared with great care to provide you with a meal that is bountiful, creative, and delicious. Our gourmet breakfasts have met with acclaim from our guests. We use only the freshest ingredients and make every effort to buy locally when we can. Fresh fruit, home-baked breads and biscuits, and mouthwatering main courses are served every day. Our evening social hour features beverages from the Biltmore Estate as well as as array of delicious canapes, both hot and cold. Freshly baked cookies are available throughout the day and you will find a special sweet treat in your room in the evening.

A note from your host…
In spite of a threatened frost this weekend, Spring is here in Asheville. This is one of the most beautiful times of the year and, like the Autumn Leaf Season, it starts below us in the foothills, spreading slowly up to our town and then into the mountains. The daffodils and tulips are nestled below soft yellow clouds of forsythia in our garden. It will be a while before they bloom in the higher elevations making Spring in Asheville a season that lasts almost two months!
Everyone is buzzing about the Downton Abbey Exhibit at the Biltmore. From February 5 through May 25 your visit to the Estate will include a special display of costumes from the PBS drama, Downton Abbey. We love Downton Abbey and have worked with the Biltmore to put together a number of exciting packages to make sure you get the most out of your visit. Availability is limited however so book now to ensure your spot. Please visit our Special Pages for details about the exhibit and our Downton Abbey at the Biltmore Package, including the Upstairs-Downstairs Tour and High Tea at the Biltmore Inn.
